For local information go to the West Oxfordshire District Council website. Oxfordshire County Council’s website provides an extensive listing of amenities and services in our region. It covers:

Waste collections are first thing Friday morning. The collections alternate between ‘grey week’ – household rubbish and food waste –  and ‘green week’ – recycling, food waste and garden waste. Our village is divided into two zones. Check your bin days using this postcode checker.

Our village has great broadband connectivity with full fibre broadband from Gigaclear offering 100mbps or fast broadband with a 70mbps average speed from BT.

The one life-saving service within our village is our defibrillator located by The Vines in Burford Road. It can restore a normal heartbeat by sending an electric pulse or shock to the heart. You can also use it to prevent or correct an arrhythmia, a heartbeat that is uneven or that is too slow or too fast. It will also restore the heart’s beating if the heart suddenly stops. This could be critical in an emergency, which is why our community has invested in one.

Don’t be phased by it – anyone can use it. The machine itself talks you through every stage. In an emergency to access the defibrillator call 999 and keep calm and follow the instructions.  Tell the call operator you are at location AB13 and you’ll then be given an unlock code. Stay on the line for further guidance.
