Santa’s Grotto and Carol Service 19th December at 5pm

This is the end-of-year event that nobody can miss – especially the children! Presents, Christmas Carols, mulled wine, mince pies – what’s not to like!

Christmas is nearly here and bearing in mind the difficult two years since our last “Santa’s Grotto and Carol Service” and for the benefit of newcomers to our village, we think a few explanations are appropriate.

Your BBVA first organised the event 9 years ago and it has proved very popular.  Santa’s Grotto will be erected in the Bell Tower where Santa will have a special seat and give presents to the children.  Santa will arrive at about 5.15pm.   We hope most people with children will arrive before Santa and we ask parents to provide a small present clearly marked with each child’s name (max £5.00 we don’t want some children to feel envious), for each of their children.  This should be handed over to the person at the door.

The Carol Service will start at about 6.00pm and we hope all the youngsters will participate. It will be led by Gary Long, the Children’s Minister from Carterton and all accompanied by our very own organist David Ashley. Judging by our Harvest Festival there will dancing and games as well as singing!

We expect that St Mary’s will be full, so please be on time …  anyone bringing a small plate of mince pies, will be offered an extra glass of BBVA mulled wine !

Festive attire is almost obligatory! See you there!
