Dear Villagers,
As you know the Parish Council and BBVA have joined forces to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee with a grand Pic-Nic under canvas on the play park.
Our “ask the villagers” survey asking about the proposed date (six days before the official date) yielded only seven replies, so after much deliberation, we confirm that the event will be held on Sunday 29th May. We will meet for aperitifs at 12:30 followed by lunch 13:00.
The survey also mentioned that the Pic-Nic catering details would follow nearer the time. Here they are :
- Your organisers will provide some large ‘joints’ of cooked meat (Beef, Lamb, Turkey, Chicken, Ham etc) which will be carved and served cold. We ask our guests to bring their own plates, cutlery, glasses and salads or vegetables of their choice and alcoholic drinks.
- Water, soft drinks and bread and butter will be provided.
- Tables and chairs will be provided as far as we can, but if you possess some fold up chairs, please bring them.
- We have engaged the Witney Brass Band to entertain us.
- The bouncy castle will be available (children only).
- This event is sponsored by the PC and BBVA for villagers. Other sponsors will be welcomed.
- Guests from outside the village will be very welcome but will be charged a £10.00 contribution.
It is important that we know how many are likely to attend, to allow us to provide sufficient tentage, tables and chairs and tucker and other comestibles.
Please would you reply by using the contact form by Tuesday 10th May. It is important that you let us know how many are likely to attend please enter a “lead name” and simply how many adults and under 16’s, with any guests included in the overall numbers.
