The ‘Living Churchyard’ enabled us to get a glimpse of the lives of some of the people who have lived in our village and to learn about how they originally came to Black Bourton in the first place. Many family members supplied their background stories and Nick Holmes the organiser is hoping more will add their stories for future events.

The many who came to the Flower Festival over the last weekend were delighted by the variety of displays so expertly arranged by some very talented ladies both from our village and further afield. The theme of the festival was ‘Special Occasions’ and you will see from the photos that there were some innovative designs. The church was transformed and the air was filled with the scent of the flowers.
Together with the Living Churchyard it was all so interesting and was rounded off perfectly in the church with a cup of tea and a piece of cake. We raised £675 over the weekend which is a fantastic result and our thanks go to all the people who worked so hard to make it happen and also to those who so generously supported us.
