In spite of lots of Christmas services in the local area being cancelled, we valiantly opened our doors at 11.30 on Christmas Eve to celebrate our special communion service. The bells rang out and Rev. Ron came to lead us in our Christmas worship. Our numbers were small but were swelled by the attendance of our wonderful bell ringers. It was a magical occasion, singing our favourite carols in a church decorated with holly and ivy and twinkling candles.
A special thank you to Janette Lanham who once again decorated the tree spectacularly with hand knitted characters, this year following the theme of the poem ‘A Visit from St Nicholas‘ by Clement Clarke Moore. You will recognise it from the first two lines – ‘Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house, not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse:’ I recommend reading the whole of this delightful poem!
Moving into the New Year we will be changing our services to the second and fourth Sunday of the month to fit in with the Team Ministry in Carterton, so our first communion service will be Sunday 9th January at 10.a.m. Details as always will be on the website and reminder emails will still be sent prior to each service.
A very Happy and Prosperous 2022 to everyone!
