As some of you will be aware, the Parish Council has been working on a plan to improve the play park for some time. Funding is always our major challenge, but with the support of Karen Bendell and Bendcrete Leisure Ltd, we have been able to secure a number of pieces of wooden play equipment from Weston Turville Parish Council, who very generously donated them following a redevelopment project in their village; we are very grateful to them for allowing us to recycle them in this way.
As you will have seen from the display on the noticeboard in the play park, the Parish Council has been looking for feedback on a proposed layout, but we now have even more exciting news to share. In April this year, backed by the Black Bourton Village Association, we made an application to the FCC Communities Foundation for a grant to pay for some new play equipment; we are delighted to announce that we recently received confirmation that our bid has been approved, so we now have the opportunity to make the play area even more attractive, inclusive and exciting!
A project team made up of village residents and members of the Parish Council and BBVA are working to revise the proposal in light of the additional funding we now have available and hope to publish a consultation document in the next few weeks. If you have any questions, comments or concerns in the meantime, please send them to the Clerk to the Parish Council through the contact page, by email to bbparishclerk@gmail.com or by post to Clerk to the Parish Council c/o Willows, Mill Lane, Black Bourton Bampton, Oxon, OX18 2PJ.
