The AGM of your BBVA was held on Monday 23rd January in St Mary’s Church, in front of a huge audience.
The Chair Deb Pateman commented that 2022 had been a successful year, although one or two changes were forced upon us. The Fete was a great success, along with the Vines Quiz Nights, Live@BB concerts, the apple juicing the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Day picnic and of course our traditional Santa’s Grotto and Carol Service at Christmas.
Deb thanked the whole committee for their support and efforts throughout the twelve months.
Funds raised by you and your BBVA has enabled us to make a significant donation to the PCC and St Mary’s Church to help with the new heating system costs and the provision of kitchen and toilet facilities within the church. The PCC and BBVA combined will in future work closely together on the “village hub vision”, to make the church the central venue for so many village activities.
We have also assisted the PC with the funding of new equipment to be installed in the play park and with the cleaning and repair to the war memorial.
Many, many thanks to the whole village who have supported these events and helped raise the funds.
For the coming year of 2023, the Chair explained that the survey of events emailed or distributed to every household, was very revealing and the new 2023 Calendar, we hope reflects the suggestions offered by many of you. You can view the calendar on this website. You should receive your printed calendars in the next few days. There are some new events among the regulars, namely: A Coronation celebration, a kids day out and a choral concert.
Finally, the AGM noted several changes and retirements. A massive thank you to Christine Pope and David Nixon who have both retired after so many years of service to the village, along with Nick Holmes (who had to retire as he is never at Holmes, geditt?). We have also been pleased to recruit Anne Nagorski, Chris Burgess, James Coxon, Rob Grant and Ross Pateman.

Wishing everyone a belated happy new year.
