BBVA News – December/January

The annual BBVA Santas Grotto and Carol Concert service on Friday 16th December was a great success.  Santa Boycott, stepped in as Father Christmas and did a great job from his Grotto, while parents enjoyed the mulled wine and mince pies.  Each child received a present and then they all joined in to sing the Carols and perform readings to a full church during the service lead by Gary Long of our new benefice with Carterton and Brize Norton.

The other big success of the evening which took place on the coldest of cold evenings, was the newly installed St Mary’s church heating system, which gave really good warmth. Congratulations to the whole PCC for their efforts.

Overall, a very good year for the BBVA, with many successful events and including a £1,000 contribution to our friends who are suffering in Ukraine.

More locally, we are delighted to be supporting the PCC both financially and practically with the St Mary’s Hub concept and with added “facilities” and a kitchen, for many and various village activities.

We are preparing the BBVA calendar for 2023 and will welcome new ideas from any members of our community at bbvacommittee@gmail.com.

Please come and join us at the BBVA AGM on Monday 23rd  January at 7.00pm in St Mary’s church.
