Black Bourton Fete Sunday 3rd September at 2pm!
With only a few days to go to our annual Fete, we are looking forward to welcoming people from Black Bourton, surrounding villages and beyond to our beautiful village, including Robert Courts (MP for Witney and West Oxfordshire) who will be opening the event this year!
We are excited to introduce new events and attractions this year, as well as those steeped in tradition. We have the Morris Men and the talented musicians from the Witney Town Band coming to entertain us. In the central arena we will have a Birds of Prey display and our popular dog show for your canine stars, surrounded by attractions such as vintage tractors, model planes, wood carving, an observational beehive and even a half-size spitfire!
We have BBQ food, and lots of other refreshment options including a fully stocked bar, our popular Tea and Cake stall and a Gin Bar from Woods Bros…and the chance to work it all off with car pulling and a tug of war! The children will have an amazing time, with traditional games, a Bouncy Castle, Pony Rides under the willow trees, an ice-cream stall and sweet cart for those special treats!
New for this year is an Art and Curios Sale and Auction, with proceeds going towards the St. Mary’s Church kitchen and loo development project, along with our ever-popular raffle with an amazing array of prizes on offer headlined by an English Riviera weekend break for two! …and so much more to see and do on the day!
This major event in our village calendar couldn’t happen without the energy and commitment of so many people from our village with everything from set up and logistics, use of land and resources, sponsorship and not least, running the event on the day. Thanks to all for your generosity, unfailing support, and sheer hard work to make the Fete a success!
